Guidance Main Page Image

Welcome to my page AND to another school year! I hope to provide information and resources that will be helpful to you and your family! If you don't see what you are looking for please contact me at

This is my 14th year at Lincoln R-II school; 5th year as Elementary Counselor. Prior to counseling I was a Jr. High/HS Special Education teacher.

Education: Bachelors from South Dakota State University-Human Development/Child and Family Studies, minor in Sociology and Gerontology. K-12 SPED teaching certification from University of MO/St. Louis & Masters in School Counseling from Missouri Baptist University.

It is my desire to hear each student's voice; provide them with encouragement and support which enables them to achieve their fullest potential; to provide them with strategies that promote individual development and personal awareness that prepares them for a solid, productive future!

Roscoe is back too! This will be his first FULL year at Lincoln!

I am so proud of the students for the respect and discpline they have shown when interacting with Roscoe! We both look forward to another great year!

This year I will start a new curriculum with Pre-K through 6th grade!

Mutt-i-grees provides lessons on social and emotional learning using books and activities and of course.....ROSCOE! Most school have to use the dog puppet that comes with the program or work with local shelters!

This innovative program builds on childrens affinity for animals! It teaches social and emotional skills and is unique in its bridging of humane education and the filed of Social and Emotional learning. Students will learn critical skills that will help them in school, at home, and later on in the workplace and in the interactions with people and of course , with animals.

5 Units cover: Achieving Awareness, Finding Feelings,Encouraging Empathy, Cultivating Cooperation and Dealing with Decisions.

There is also a new mailbox outside my office! Students can "Write 2 Roscoe". I will talking with students about what is appropriate to put in the box (junk and Spam) My hope is that this provides students another opportunity express themselves, vent, ask for help! If the student includes their name, Roscoe would be able answer them!

I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable summer! As we start a new school year please feel free to ask questions so we can all work together to make this a smooth transition for everyone!
